This in-depth workshop is designed for Counsellors and Psychotherapists who want to deepen their understanding and strengthen their clinical approach to working with psychosis. Whether you're building on existing knowledge or seeking greater confidence when working with complex presentations, this session offers a practical, informed, and compassionate framework. What You’ll Explore: Genetics & Brain Function – The hereditary links and neurobiological underpinnings of psychosis Understanding the Root Causes – A deeper look at the complex contributing factors, including cannabis use, trauma, and disrupted sleep Symptoms in the Room – How to recognise delusions, hallucinations, disorganised thinking, and early warning signs CBT-p: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis – Introduction to the core principles of CBT-p and how to apply them safely and effectively in your work, including formulation, reality testing, and working with unshared beliefs Practical Interventions – Trauma-informed strategies for working therapeutically with psychosis, including communication techniques, safety planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Expect a warm, grounded, and highly practical session filled with real-life case examples, tools you can use immediately, and space for reflection and discussion.
